Within these pages, we hope to give an insight into the agony and the ecstasy experienced during the building of our house in Corfu. We undertook the project with no building experience whatsoever. Hopefully there will be information here that others who are considering embarking on similar projects may find useful.

Site Navigation - Important!
Those of you who have been with us from the beginning of this site will recognise that it has undergone some changes! We have added a forum and as of today we have included areas specific to the building of our garage, apartment and what we class as ‘hard landscaping’. There is also a section on Stonework which has proven to be a major expence for us. Neither of these sections detract from the original aim of providing some useful tips if you are intending building in Greece and specifically, Corfu. Please don’t treat these latter sections as ‘vanity publishing’! There are some specific points that we feel are worth considering.

We have attempted to present information in a sensible order. If the reader is to follow the order in which the menu appears, it should make sense!

Clicking on any of the buttons headed ‘House Build’, ‘Garage Build’ ‘Apartment Build’, ‘Landscaping’ or ‘Stonework’ will activate a fly-out menu pertinent to that section. There is a logical order in which the information is presented. (I hope!) It represents, more or less, the order in which we tackled our house building project if you discount the fact that the garage was completed long before the house!

As we will explain later, we have no prior building experience but we have attempted to highlight possible pitfalls for the unwary! Watch out for the red highlighted text! The first couple of pages may seem a lot of text. Stick with it! There are plenty of pictures soon afterwards!
